What is the Anti-Imperialist Front – Coordinating Committee (USA)?
Imperialism, the highest stage of capitalism, is a global, monopolistic, and decaying system which exploits and oppresses a great majority of the of the world’s peoples. With wealth increasingly concentrated in the hands of the few, the imperialist ruling class plunders the international proletariat and oppressed masses. However, imperialism is a paper tiger and a titan with clay feet. The people of the world are increasingly rising up in protest and revolt against the reactionary system of imperialism.
The heroic war of national resistance in Palestine against the Zionist-led genocide and occupation has galvanized a wave of militant resistance across the world, including within the United States itself. Moreover, the development of the ongoing People’s Wars in Peru, Turkey, India, and the Philippines as well as leaps in the preparation for agrarian and New Democratic revolution in semi-colonial and semi-feudal countries are promising strides in world revolution.
The United States of America is a bloodthirsty imperialist power intent on maintaining its status as the sole hegemonic superpower through repression, exploitation, and genocide both domestically and abroad. The far-right administration is pursuing an agenda of presidential absolutism, militarism, and reactionary policies. Although only in its first year, the administration has already taken steps towards expanding repression of anti-imperialist activists, militarization of anti-immigration policy, rollbacks of democratic rights, and other attacks against workers and progressives. Moreover, the promises for an economic revival prove empty as the general imperialist crisis deepens, continuously suppressing wages of workers and increasing prices of everyday goods.
As imperialism increasingly exposes its reactionary character, the people rise up with greater ferocity and determination. Among workers, youth, intellectuals, and progressives, there is a deepening consciousness of the vile and decrepit nature of imperialism. Protests have rocked the streets of major cities, from the uprisings in 2020 to the recent demonstrations and occupations in support of the Palestinian national resistance.
However, the revolutionary forces in the United States lag behind. They are dispersed and face ideological, political, and organizational fragmentation. Revisionism and opportunism have vehemently fought the unity of revolutionaries, the hegemony of the proletariat over the revolutionary movement, and the vanguard party as the leader of the class. In order to overcome the dispersal of forces it is necessary to unfold ideological-political struggle, achieving unity around principles as well as unity in practice.
The Anti-Imperialist Front Coordinating Committee was constituted to promote and guide the process of the formation of an anti-imperialist front organization within the United States, to unite revolutionaries under a consistent anti-imperialist line, and advance the revolution in the US as part of the World Proletarian Revolution.
The AIF-CC pursues the formation of an anti-imperialist front organization on two foundations: mainly ideological-political construction, with simultaneous organizational construction. A consistent anti-imperialist line requires a firm basis in the scientific worldview of the proletariat, and the development of the struggle against revisionism and opportunism. Through two-line struggle and direct participation in the class struggle, the AIF-CC aims to clarify and solidify this line.
At the same time, it is necessary to build up the organizational structure. Pursuing this, the AIF-CC aims to develop coordinated activity, campaigns, and meetings, culminating in the First National Congress of the anti-imperialist front organization. This task requires development through progressive milestones from the simple to the complex and from the small to the large, all in pursuit of genuine unity among consistent anti-imperialist forces, without which the Congress cannot be held.
The current work of the AIF-CC in both ideological-political as well as organizational construction entails issuing calls to action and campaigns, as well as organizing meetings of its constituent organizations as well as fraternal organizations.
