Continue the Support for the Palestinian National Resistance!

The Palestinian resistance has conquered another great victory through the recent ceasefire, after two years of intense fighting and two years of enduring the genocidal offensive of the US and Israel. The resistance showed to the world that the genocidal Israelis are not invincible, and that even with the hundreds of billions of dollars in aid from the US, the number-one imperialist superpower, they were still defeated. The victories of the Palestinian resistance are stunning achievements, even with the genocidal slaughter done by the Israelis – killing up to 70,000 people in Gaza and wounding 170,000 more, the resistance has persevered and fought tooth and nail to victory.

This is a reflection of the broader global trend: Revolution. Oppressed and exploited peoples the world over are inspired by this heroic achievement, the Palestinians have reaffirmed that the only path to liberation is through the armed struggle, supported by the masses of people.

Strategically the US desires greater stability in the region so that it can divert greater attention and resources to the problem of containing ascendant Chinese imperialism. For years, the US has been seeking the normalization of relations between Arab states and Israel, particularly through the expansion of the Abraham Accords. Such a normalization would have greatly weakened the position of the Palestinian resistance and struggle for self-determination, as other Arab states turned their backs on Palestine. The October 7th attacks and ensuing genocidal aggression in Gaza disrupted this plan and undermined US machinations in the region.

The ceasefire, despite Trump’s self-congratulatory praise as a “genius deal” was in reality an immense political victory for the Resistance. The US and Israel have been insistent in their war aims of disarming Hamas and other resistance forces as well as removing them from political power in Gaza. Despite Trump’s boasting, the Resistance has not agreed to lay down arms, maintains governance in areas of Israeli withdrawal, and has secured the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners held by the Israelis. This is what is fundamental, because without their weaponry and armed forces the Palestinian masses are vulnerable to the Israelis genocidal ambitions. The Israelis themselves are unsatisfied with this deal for this exact reason, and they continue to violate the ceasefire every day by bombing the people of Gaza while they try to rebuild.

Trump quickly forced Netanyahu’s hand in accepting the terms of the ceasefire deal, leveraging the support of the US to compel Israel into agreeing to the concessions to the Palestinian Resistance. Not only does this prove the decisive role of the US in the past several years of Israeli aggression, but also the hypocrisy and cynical lies of the Democratic Party. As much as Biden and other Democrats have insisted that the situation is complex, that they were trying to work with Netanyahu for the end of aggression, that they were concerned about the “humanitarian crisis” (that is, the genocide), Biden could have forced Israel into a ceasefire at any point just as Trump did.

Israel and the US have recognized that they cannot defeat the popular support of the resistance, so instead they opted for a genocidal war of destruction, aiming to tire out the Palestinian masses heroic fighting spirit through daily atrocities. This was shown to be a miserable failure, as this only rallied the Palestinians and the people of the world more against the crimes of Israel and US imperialism. Upended in their aims for diplomatic and political maneuvers to stabilize the region, the US has pursued greater military aggression via Israel. Under the guidance of the US, Israel

has lashed out and attacked countries all over the Middle East, with the invasion of Lebanon and Syria, bombing of Yemen and Iran, and carrying out an attack in Qatar. Israel goes country to country chasing failure after failure. The masses of these countries have only become more resolute in their anti-imperialist consciousness, and demonstrations rock the stability of the countries in the region that support Israel such as Egypt and Turkey. The struggle against imperialism in the region has only strengthened since October 7th.

The repeated failures of the US to secure its aims in Gaza and in the Middle East more broadly demonstrates the weakening position of US imperialism. Recognizing the failure of their militarist pursuits, the US and other imperialist powers now aim to politically maneuver to crush the Palestinian Resistance. The US wants to set up a transitional government made up of collaborators in Palestine under the supervision of Trump himself in addition to an “International Stabilization Force” made up of cooperating Arab countries’ armed forces. But while plans on paper are one thing, the reality is not so simple for the US. Not only does Hamas remain armed, but it has reorganized in the period of relative peace to resume its governing role in Gaza. The US cannot find cooperation among Arab partners for these plans, as it is well known that any armed force that enters the area will either have to submit to Hamas’s authority or face the armed resistance. Other imperialist powers have pursued similar policies. France, Canada, Spain and other states have “recognized” Palestine in a two-faced gesture of “support” for the Palestinian people. In reality, they recognize the collaborationist Palestinian Authority, which lacks genuine support of the people on the ground and only exercises its authority to support the Israeli occupation.

This recognition amounts to a weak attempt to revitalize the “two- state solution” with a Palestinian “state” that cooperates with US imperialism and lacks the ability to exercise its sovereignty. These fantastical political “solutions” always run up against with problems when they are confronted with the conditions on the ground. The fact is that the Palestinian Resistance persists with arms in hand and with the broad support of the Palestinian masses.

In the face of these political maneuvers and the continued military assaults by Israel, it is imperative that the international anti- imperialist movement maintains and strengthens its support for the cause of the Palestinian Resistance. With the recent ceasefire, the Resistance is able to begin to regroup, recuperate, and rebuild within Gaza. The anti-imperialist movement must continue to raise the international support of the Palestinian masses, demanding the end of the blockade and siege, end of all military aggression, and recognition of the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people including the right to return and freedom for political prisoners. The US wants to divert attention from the region, continue the expansion of the Abraham Accords and normalization of relations with Israel, and prop up a phony and collaborationist Palestinian government. But none of these will succeed, and each will be met with not only the persistent struggle of the Palestinian people, but also the continued support of the masses and anti- imperialist movement internationally. US imperialists grip on the world is weakening, and we need to continue to propel this historic anti-imperialist surge towards our ultimate goal of working-class revolution to overthrow imperialism once and for all.

LONG LIVE THE HEROIC PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE!

DOWN WITH THE GENOCIDAL STATE OF ISRAEL!

US IMPERIALISM, OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST!
